As we open another page in the life of the University, we are looking back at the past year with much gratitude. At the same time, we are gazing ahead at the new year with great hope and optimism.
The previous year brought a lot of unexpected great news for the University. We successfully transitioned to a new organizational set-up in response to the full implementation of the Senior High School Program; the College of Law got a 4th bar placer; the Medical Technology Program was recognized as the best performing school in the country with a 100% performance in the board exam; the Nutrition and Dietetics program had a board placer; athletes and contestants received the most number of medals, especially gold medals, during the ASAM gathering in Colegio San Agustin-Biñan, Laguna and in the Iloilo PRISAA; the Research Office received substantial amount of grants; highly qualified teachers were hired for various programs; the ISO recertification; the accreditation of some programs; and many more.
This year, we look ahead with optimism as the University will celebrate its 65th anniversary as a university. We received our university status in 1953 and we are proud to say that we are the first university in the region. Since its foundation in 1904, the school has remained steadfast with its mission to mold minds and hearts of students in virtus et scientia.
We are looking forward to the new year with optimism as we welcome our new college freshmen this coming June after two years of absence because of the K-12 program. As we prepare for the coming Academic Year, the University is continuing its effort to offer quality education by upgrading our facilities, providing a more conducive learning environment for teachers and students, updating our laboratories, hiring competent and qualified teachers and aggressively pursuing the accreditation of many programs, to mention a few of our initiatives. To jumpstart, our eight (8) programs in the College of Technology will undergo their share of accreditation with the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) this coming February.
These and many more developments in the University are concrete manifestations of our serious commitment to keep the legacy of the University of San Agustin as one of the leading universities in the country.
I invite every stakeholder to journey with us towards greater heights.
Viva San Agustin!
FR. FREDERICK C. COMENDADOR O.S.A. President University of San Agustin
