ALUMNI UPDATE: Augustinian alumna Mrs. Genoveva “Bing” Milanes - Declarador (Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy ‘86) has been elected as Vice President for Visayas of the Philippine Pharmacists Association, Inc. last May 5, 2018 during the 2018 National Convention of the Philippine Pharmacists Association held at the Iloilo Convention Center in Iloilo City.
As an Augustinian alumna, Mrs. Declarador is active in coordinating with her fellow pharmacists from the University of San Agustin for reunions and special projects that would beef up the pharmacy program of the College of Health and Allied Medical Professions (formerly the College of Pharmacy and Medical Technology).
In the 2018 PPhA convention where she was elected, more than 3,000 pharmacists from all over the country, including Augustinian pharmacists, convened to discuss best practices and technological advancements that would improve pharmaceutical practice in the Philippines.
This year’s theme was “Advancing the Service of Pharmacy in the Philippines through Advocacy and Technology.” All the plenaries and other activities revolved in this.
The said convention was graced by local and international pharmaceutical companies. The USA Choir and Troubadours also serenaded the pharmacists during the cultural night.
After Iloilo City, the City of Davao is set to host the next national convention.
