As we open another page in the life of the University, we are looking back at the past year with much gratitude. At the same time, we are gazing ahead the new year with great hope and optimism.
The previous year brought a lot of unexpected great news for the University. We successfully transitioned to a new organizational set up in response to the full implementation of the Senior High School Program; our College of Law got a 4th bar placer; the Medical Technology Program was recognized as the best performing school in the country with our 100% performance in the board exam; we have a board placer in the Nutrition and Dietetics program; our athletes and contestants received the most number of medals, especially gold medals, during the ASAM gathering in Colegio San Agustin-Biñan, Laguna and during the Iloilo PRISAA; the substantial amount of grants we received through our Research Office; the coming in of some highly qualified teachers in our various programs; our ISO recertification; the accreditation of some of our programs; and many more.
This year, we look ahead with optimism as the University will celebrate its 65th anniversary as a university. We received our university status in 1953 and we are proud to say that we are the first university in the region. Since its foundation in 1904 the school has remained steadfast with its mission to mold minds and hearts of students in virtus et scientia.
We are looking forward to the new year with optimism as we welcome our new college freshmen this coming June after two years of absence because of the K-12 program. As we prepare for the coming Academic Year, the University is continuing its effort to offer quality education by upgrading our facilities, providing a more conducive learning environment for teachers and students, updating our laboratories, hiring competent and qualified teachers and aggressively pursuing the accreditation of many programs, to mention a few of our initiatives. To jumpstart, our eight (8) programs in the College of Technology will undergo their share of accreditation with the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) this coming February.
These and many more developments in the University are concrete manifestation of our serious commitment to keep the legacy of the University of San Agustin as one of the leading universities in the country.
I invite every stakeholder to journey with us towards greater heights.
Viva San Agustin!
