The University of San Agustin (USA) in Iloilo City is hosting the mass training for Grade 9 Teachers of the K to 12 Basic Education Program in MAPEH (Music, Arts, Physical Education and Health) and Filipino this summer 2014. A big time festivity is set on March 1, 2013 because the first university in Western Visayas, the University
of San Agustin, will be marking its 60th anniversary of its elevation to a university.
According to Rev. Fr. Harold Rentoria, OSA, chair of the ad hoc committee for San Agustin’s 60th
anniversary as a university and at the same time Vice President for Academic Affairs, the entire event will
revolve around the theme ‘USA@60: A Commemoration of the Past, A Celebration of the Present, and A
Commitment to the Future’. The celebration tagline, echoed from the University Hymn, is ‘Shout your
glory across the sky.’

CHED Commissioner Dr. Minella Alarcon, is expected to keynote in the 1st San Agustin National Research and Education Conference on November 27-29, 2013 at the University of San Agustin - Iloilo Auditorium.

The University of San Agustin (USA) has engaged the consulting services of the Institute for Solidarity in Asia (ISA) for administering its annual Strategic Planning process. Thousands of devotees are expected to welcome the visiting relics of the newly canonized Popes, St. John Paul II and St. John XXIII, today, at the University of San Agustin, Iloilo City. The 109 year old Catholic-Augustinian University is hosting the 3-day relic visit of the two new Saints of the Catholic Church from May 20-22.
At 11 a.m. today, Jaro Archbishop Angel Lagdameo will celebrate a welcome mass at the University Chapel, where the relics will be enshrined for the entire duration of the visit.
