College of Liberal Arts, Sciences and Education
message from the dean
Welcome to the College of Liberal Arts, Sciences, and Education (CLASE)!
Our Education program, which traces its roots to the College of Education, holds the singular distinction of being a CHED Center of Development for Teacher Education. CLASE has the most number of PAASCU-accredited programs in the University (thirteen out of twenty), and is the only college with a PAASCU-accredited doctoral program (Ph.D. Education).
The College counts among its distinguished faculty Metrobank Outstanding Teachers, DOST Balik Scientists, winners of Palanca awards and National Book Awards, and an Ulirang Guro awardee, among others. Significantly, all nine full professors in the 114-year history of the University of San Agustin belong to the roster of distinguished faculty and/or deans of the College of Liberal Arts (later renamed College of Arts and Sciences) and/or College of Education— now collectively called the College of Liberal Arts, Sciences, and Education.
Among its laurels, the College prides itself with a long line of accomplished alumni, including at least forty of the one hundred Outstanding Augustinians of the Century declared in 2004. It has produced two TOSP (Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines) awardees and, of course, topnotchers in board examinations such as the Licensure Examination for Teachers and Librarian Licensure Examination.
The College opens its doors wide for you. Come!
