Thanksgiving highlights USA Christmas Celebration

The first University in Western Visayas will be highlighting its thankfulness to the 60 wonderful years it had as a University on this year’s Christmas celebration.
The University of San Agustin will open its Christmas lights and ornaments to the public on December 15, 2012.
Aside from using light emitting diodes (LED) in the decorative lighting, the University will also incorporate various symbolisms in the decorations especially in the centerpiece.

“The centerpiece [found in front of Herrera Hall beside the Saint Augustine statue] will be a tall Christmas tree adorned with lights and six unique gifts which symbolizes God’s gift of [six] prosperous decades for the University. “ Eric Divinagracia, Co-curricular Activities Coordinator said.  read more »

USA to celebrate 60th Anniversary as a University

A big time festivity is set on March 1, 2013 because the first university in Western Visayas, the University
of San Agustin, will be marking its 60th anniversary of its elevation to a university.

According to Rev. Fr. Harold Rentoria, OSA, chair of the ad hoc committee for San Agustin’s 60th
anniversary as a university and at the same time Vice President for Academic Affairs, the entire event will
revolve around the theme ‘USA@60: A Commemoration of the Past, A Celebration of the Present, and A
Commitment to the Future’. The celebration tagline, echoed from the University Hymn, is ‘Shout your
glory across the sky.’  read more »

Outstanding engineer addresses 2010 graduates


ENGINEER Jeffrey Mijares, a 2001 Outstanding Chemical Engineer Awardee, addressed and inspired the nearly one thousand and five hundred Augustinian 2010 graduates last March.

Mijares finished his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the College of Engineering

BS Arch graduate among TOSP 6 awardees

Augustinians win Rizal leadership contests

AUGUSTINIAN social science students won awards in Rizal leadership contests recently conducted at Punta Villa, Arevalo, Iloilo City.

Patrick Daniel O. Ladrido emerged second in Extemporaneous Speaking, and Marzz Halley Capanang placed second in the Painting/Poster Making Contest. Both students represented KAPARIZ (Kabataang Pangarap ni Rizal) of the university’s Social Science Department.  read more »
