Business tycoon Henry O. Chusuey was conferred with a Doctor of Humanities Degree, honoris causa by the University of San Agustin (USA) in a conferment ceremony last November 13, 2013.
Chusuey, dubbed as “Mr. Tourism” of Visayas, graduated from the University of San Agustin with a degree of BS Commerce, Major in Accounting and organized Boracay Regency Group (now known as Hennan Resorts Group) in 1998, which currently employs over a thousand workers. read more »
CHED Commissioner Dr. Minella Alarcon, is expected to keynote in the 1st San Agustin National Research and Education Conference on November 27-29, 2013 at the University of San Agustin - Iloilo Auditorium.
With the theme “Philippine Higher Education and Research in the Knowledge Society,” the three-day Conference will consist of six plenary talks to be given by noted speakers covering topics in Social Science & Humanities, Natural Science, Technology & Innovation, and Education. read more »
The nomination deadline for the University of San Agustin Alumni Achievement Awards 2013 has been extended to August 10, 2013.
The Awards aim to honor Augustinian Alumni who have exemplified the virtues, ideals and wisdom of St. Augustine and to celebrate their significant contribution to their respective fields.

USAAA holds Homecoming Fun Run

Sunday became fun-day as Augustinians and friends literally painted two major streets with red and gold.
The University of San Agustin Alumni Association (USAAA) organized a fun run activity along General Luna Street and Benigno Aquino Avenue in Iloilo City as part of its Grand Alumni Homecoming and the year-long 60th Anniversary of the University as the First University in Western Visayas, July 14. read more »
The University of San Agustin (USA) has engaged the consulting services of the Institute for Solidarity in Asia (ISA) for administering its annual Strategic Planning process. The signing of Agreement will be on July 4, 2013, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, at the USA President’s Conference Room.
ISA is a non-stock, non-profit organization that has centered on introducing government reforms in the public sector and, recently, with academic learning institutions such as De La Salle University- College of Saint Benilde. read more »

A big time festivity is set on March 1, 2013 because the first university in Western Visayas, the University
of San Agustin, will be marking its 60th anniversary of its elevation to a university.
According to Rev. Fr. Harold Rentoria, OSA, chair of the ad hoc committee for San Agustin’s 60th
anniversary as a university and at the same time Vice President for Academic Affairs, the entire event will
revolve around the theme ‘USA@60: A Commemoration of the Past, A Celebration of the Present, and A
Commitment to the Future’. The celebration tagline, echoed from the University Hymn, is ‘Shout your
