Elementary Department
Objectives
The Augustinian education is summed up in the motto: VIRTUE AND SCIENCE, An Augustinian must grow integrally both in character and knowledge according to his age and level of maturity. As part of the University, the Elementary Department aims to:
- provide the child with the basic knowledge and skills which will prepare him to meet greater academic challenges:
- provide opportunities for the child to imbibe attitudes and values which contribute to the development of the total person in a rapidly changing society,
- awaken, foster, and intensify in the child knowledge of, identification with, and love of our Filipino nation including our culture and arts.
- Evolve in the child a wide social awareness of and respect for other peoples and nations under the Fatherhood of God.
The Elementary Department strives to realize its goals by:
- striving for a higher academic performance of pupils;
- organizing stimulating, meaningful, and challenging activities which will contribute to the religious, civic, social and personal growth of the pupil;
- encouraging participation in various co-curricular activities;
- emphasizing involvement in activities that deepen national awareness and concern for others.
As a result, the USA Elementary graduate
- is academically prepared to enter High School;
- respects and values himself as a child of God and behaves in accordance with the Augustinian ideal of one heart, one mind on the way to God;
- discovers, appreciates, and develops his God-given gifts;
- is aware of and responsive to the needs of his ever-changing milieu;
- exercises creative and critical thinking, fairness, selflessness, and respect for authority and the dignify of labor,
- is an active, friendly, caring and useful member at home, in school and in the community.
General Regulations
- ADMISSION
- Admission to the Elementary Department is competitive, based on the following:
- Pupil's good academic qualifications and good behavior as evidenced by his Form138 (report card) or Kindergarten certificate in the case of a Grade One pupil.
- Above average intellectual ability as evidence by the result of his entrance examination given on schedule dates and;
- General acceptability as proved by a satisfactory personal interview with either the guidance counselor or the Principal.
- Old pupils are guaranteed admission the following school year provided:
- they have no grade below 75 in any subject at the end of the preceding year, and
- they signify in writing before the end of the school year their intention to enroll in the department the next school year. Failure to do so means no interest to enroll the next school year. In such case other applicants should be considered.
- Admission to the Elementary Department is competitive, based on the following:
- FEES
- Tuition fees and miscellaneous fees are subject to change every year
- Other Fees
- Departmental Fee (Per Year)
- USACPA FEE (Per Year, Per Parents)
- Boy Scouts Contribution
- Red Cross Contribution
